Lindsay’s Farewell

I don’t know how many times we’ve retold the story of how Lindsay and I came to work together. Linds was preparing for the real estate exam and had stumbled across David Smith Homes Group on social media. She took the initiative (very ‘Lindsay’) to ask me for lunch, at Trading Post, of course; she shared a little about her plans and what she appreciated about our ‘People Over Property’ approach. The conversation led to a request and another in response:

Lindsay: ‘Can I pay you to mentor me?’
David: ‘Can I pay you to help me?!

It was immediately apparent that not only did Lindsay have everything needed to become a successful and honourable agent (except her license!), but that she understood how we seek to treat each of our clients. That conversation led to four years of partnership, daily alongside each other for the first couple of years, and more of a mutually supportive role more recently as the other elements of life required much of her.

Recently Lindsay let us know that she would be allowing her real estate license to lapse. For the record, I have never seen any of Linday’s clients suffer for the other responsibilities she carries. Lindsay has been, and remains in my eyes, a world class Realtor with a comically neurotic attention to detail that causes equal amounts of stress and laughter between us when we discuss her transactions.

We wish Lindsay all the best as she transitions out of real estate and turns her attention exclusively to the other facets of life in which she also excels. The door always remains open and we wouldn’t be surprised if the real estate bug bites her again in the future.

Lindsay shared the below as part of her sign off, “Hello friends! I wanted to take a minute to let you all know that despite having loved every minute of my real estate journey these last four years, it’s time for me to make a bit of a change. It’s a season of life where I find I’m needed by my kiddos in a way that doesn’t allow me to give my all to my clients; and that’s what you deserve: my all, and nothing less. So, for now, I need to exit stage left and watch David, Karyn, and Amanda continue to knock it out of the park for each and every one of you.  They are dear friends, unparalleled agents, and wonderful people. You are in such excellent hands. Farewell!”

Thank you for all your service these last four years, Lindsay. We look forward to keeping in touch and will always aspire to care for your friends and clients the way we know you would.
