Growing up in Scotland, I’ve always loved soccer, or what we called ‘football.’
A couple of years ago as my kids began falling in love with the game I asked, ‘how could we press into this for the good of our community and to build into that relationship with the kids?’
The answer came in the form of an official partnership with Vancouver Football Club, the Canadian Premier League team playing at the Langley Events Centre’s new Willoughby Stadium.
Part of our partnership involves celebrating a ‘Young Fan of The Match’ each home game, awarding them some VFC merchandise to show our appreciation for how they support the club.
We’ve also had the opportunity for some of the teams from Langley United Soccer Association to walk the team out at the start of a match; we’ll shortly be welcoming some of the kids from our non-profit partners at New Hope Community Services to come to a game; and we’re hosting ongoing client events too.
Beyond that, we’re dedicated fans that just love supporting the team and bonding with one another over the game.
