Review Of The Month – January

We’re always grateful for your reviews, and last month’s was particularly impactful, so we’re including it again this month in case you didn’t have the chance to read it over the holidays. It’s the longest and most comprehensive review we’ve ever received. J & L found us online, and chose to work with us based upon our reviews too, so it shows what an impact reviews can have. Alert! This is not a solicited commercial. My wife and I discovered David Smith Homes Group through an internet search of top realtors in the Fraser Valley, and Greater Vancouver. Our first in home meeting with David Smith, and team member Karyn Scott, was a revelation. Within five minutes of chatting we realized why so many clients had chosen to trust them before, and why they consistently sell a significant number of homes each year.

David is a warm, softly spoken person who has an acute understanding of our local market. We were immediately drawn to his confident manner, which was enthusiastic, without being overbearing. After spending time with them, we came to realize that David and Karyn genuinely care about people. We also saw how valuable a team member Karyn was to this equation, as she worked with David on much of the important behind the scenes responsibilities, like statistics analysis, and compilation, as well as a myriad of other jobs, which left him free to concentrate on navigating challenging negotiations.

As David and Karyn revealed, with interest rates rising, and home values dropping, timing an appropriate list price was crucial. David and Karyn hit the mark spot on. After some back and forth negotiations over the sale price with our buyers, we had an accepted offer – all in less than three weeks. In a market, which showed only one in four homes appropriately listed selling within that time period, this was a genuine accomplishment.

Through those three weeks David worked tirelessly with prospective buyers’ agents, helping them to create, within their clients minds, an understanding of our home’s qualities. These meetings led to at least two other near offers, which were mostly held up by the fact that the potential buyers had not yet sold their own homes.

David also helped us in numerous other ways. He found us a professional home cleaner, who has done private work for his family. He offered to help us find a notary, or a lawyer, to do the conveyancing.  He recommended a home painter, and gave us advice on moving companies, and even suggested one who had recently done a move for him. He spent the entire time here that the buyers’ home inspector was in our home. When the buyers kept adding requests, and questions, beyond those in the subjects, he skillfully moderated between us and the buyers’ agent, with a keen sense of the dynamics. We could go on.

In summary, we were 100% happy with David Smith, and with Karyn Scott. We unreservedly recommend David Smith Homes Group to anyone wishing to sell or buy a home. This team could not have offered any better service than that which they so generously provided.
